The Who/What/When/Where of Fashionista Blogger Ashley White

White

Born in California but raised in Kansas City, fashionista/blogger Ashley White is the driving force behind Le Stylo Rouge. She carefully treads between investment pieces and budget-friendly options on said blog, using her ability to remix items over and over to stretch the almighty wardrobe-related dollar. White’s goal? To make any style work for Kansas City—because “who says the so-called fashion capitals get to have all the fun?”

We caught up with the lifestyle maven between buying too many plants for her home and spoiling her three rat terriers to see what helps her survive in this crazy world.

Fave place to do some retail (fashion) therapy? Go!
Scoobie is one of my local faves—there are always a lot of boho, California girl-type styles on their racks, which I love.”

Fave mandatory accessory? Tell us!
It’s always sunglasses—and nine times out of ten, it’s the classic Ray-Ban green and gold 55m aviators. They are timeless! Throw them on with anything and you’re instantly just a little bit cooler. Score ’em at Nordstrom or Macy’s.”

We hear you! What’s your fave song/earworm right now?
Cities by Throttle is a vibe! Immediate mood-lifter.”

Let’s go people-watch, dear. Where to?
People-watching in lockdown is a bit different, isn’t it? I’ve been quite interested to see how the style of the people I follow on social has evolved and been shaped by being isolated these past few months. Before sheltering in place, I loved the Percheron rooftop bar at the Crossroads Hotel. Off-duty casual style, killer city views, great cocktails.”

We’re in the mood to max out our credit cards! Help!
AesthetiCare Medspa. Taking really good care of your skin is the new little black dress! Plus, you’ll look fresh and dewy on all those Zoom calls, no makeup necessary. AesthetiCare is the place to go in the metro if you’re looking to up your skincare game.”

Shhhh—where’s your fave hidden gem in the metro?
Sierra Winter Jewelry opened up a brick and mortar space in Brookside and it’s dreamy. I wear her pieces on repeat; she’s one of KC’s biggest talents, for sure. The Eclipse and Revival necklaces are two of my favorites.”

We need a new guilty pleasure. Suggestions?
“I bought a margarita machine (lockdown purchase!) that makes a gallon of margaritas at a time. A! Gallon! My blood type is now officially frozen strawberry margarita.”

Finally, let’s all have a sugar rush. Where do we meet you?
Sylas and Maddy’s! homemade ice cream, you have my heart. A couple of scoops of Cherries Grande in a waffle cone is edible happiness.”
