Hey, boo! If your social roster is looking a little sparse, we’ve got some events to add to your Halloween weekend.


Ghost Stories from Around the World – October 28-31
Join Kansas City Public Theatre as they present supernatural tales of horror inspired by ghost stories rooted in the traditions of communities from around the world. On October 28, 29, and 31 the spooky narrations will take place at PH Coffee‘s Halloween popup bar, Amuck! Amuk! Amok! Get your free tickets here. On October 30 starting at 1:00 p.m. the storytelling takes place at Manheim GardensHarvest Fest A Dia de los Muertos Celebration. See below for details about the Harvest Fest.

Harvest Fest A Dia de los Muertos Celebration – October 30
Manheim Gardens is throwing their annual Harvest Festival from 11:00 a.m. to sundown. The event is a multicultural, multigenerational celebration of the changing seasons. Dozens of creative vendors will share their wares with the community, including henna artists, vegan eateries, tarot readers, visual artists, and more. You’ll be entertained with ghost stories by playwrights from KC Public Theatre, musical talent, and a special sunset Dia De Los Muertos performance. All ages can enjoy the sugar skulls art booth, vegetable harvests, self-guided tours, and the garden’s lively yard birds. Click here for more information on this free event.

JOCO Home + Remodeling Show – October 29-31
Renew, refresh, and restore your home with innovative home and remodeling products from hundreds of experts all under one roof at the JOCO Home + Remodeling Show. Shop, save, and compare on everything from windows and flooring to cabinets and landscaping. On Saturday at noon and at 3:00 p.m., Matt Blashaw, star of HGTV’s Professional Grade and Yard Crashers, will present “Live, Love, Landscape.” Adult tickets are $10 at the door or $8 if you order in advance. On Friday, all active military personnel, veterans, police & fire personnel receive free admission with valid ID. On Sunday all teachers and school employees receive free admission with valid ID. Free admission all weekend for children ages 12 and younger.

Boo at the Zoo – October 30 and 31
Put on your favorite costume and join the zoo animals for a great day of not-so-spooky activities. Skip, hop, crawl, or waddle to trick-or-treat stations with the zooiest gooiest treats in town plus enjoy fun fall activities for the whole family, including a dance party with DJ Joe, a pint-sized hay maze, pedal tractors, and more.
