It’s Nearly Time For Milk & Cookies With Santa At Mission Farms!

You know who’s a big fan of milk and cookies—we mean, besides Santa? The Royals’ Alex Gordon. It’s true. The well-known ballplayer will be at Mission Farms on Sunday, November 24th from 10 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. for a festive, free event that’s sure to get you in the mood for the holidays.

Of course, we’re talking about Mission Farm’s annual, family-friendly Milk & Cookies extravaganza. It’s a perfect way to window shop before the blitzkrieg of Thanksgiving shoppers, show some team spirit—and it’s all for a good cause. Not only will Gordon will be on hand signing autographs; Ian Kennedy and Sluggerrr will be making special appearances as well. All proceeds of the event help benefit Safehome—a local domestic abuse shelter that provides women, men and children with a safe space, advocacy, counseling, and prevention education in our community. “Safehome has such a special place in my heart,” says Alex’s wife, Jamie Gordon. “Our family loves to support such a great cause and we appreciate any donations that are given, especially this time of year.”

Patrons are encouraged to help make the holiday brighter for those in need with a donation to Safehome. (Bonus! Your donation gets you one signed autograph per person.) Here’s a list of the current urgent needs at Safehome:

– gift cards – $25 to Price Chopper, Walmart or Quik Trip
– paper towels
– toilet paper
– Kleenex
– bath towels and wash cloths
– cold medicine
– twin-size blankets
– twin-size sheet sets
– hairspray
– new women and children’s winter coats

Plus, Mission Farms is a great shopping destination for you to peruse while you’re there. “We’ve got plenty of special surprises planned,” says Mission Farms’ marketing director Laurie Morrissey. “It’s the perfect Sunday to get in the holiday spirit and help Safehome while you’re there!”

Don’t miss the cheery festivities located inside the Village of Mission Farms apartments—just down from, Martin City at Mission Farms, Gallery V, and EyeStyle Optics, on the west side of Mission road at Mission Farms. And—as always—be sure to partake of all the yummy samples courtesy of Shatto Milk Company while you’re indulging in the festive array of holiday cookies. (Even better? Plenty of free parking behind the Saint Luke’s building on the west side of Mission Road.)

For over 12 years, Mission Farms in Leawood has been a Johnson County shopping mecca with more than 40,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space—each locally owned and operated.  Located just off 106th  & Mission in Leawood, Mission Farms boasts your “shop-tions” are endless. “We’re definitely a destination. Shopping here means you’re supporting local,” says Morrissey. “And that’s why we’ve partnered with Safehome as our charity of choice once again. It’s a local organization that’s near and dear to our hearts and does a lot of great things in our community.”
