Five Things You Don’t Know About Me: Sweet Petites KC’s Lindsay Goff

Kansas City native Lindsay Goff says her career evolution took quite the pendulum swing in the last few years. Goff spent ten years as a hairstylist before venturing into baking. (Dare we say she went from frosting tips to frosting cookies?) A self-taught baker, Goff now runs Sweet Petites KC in the River Market where everything tastes just as luscious and sugar-rific as it looks. “I started out baking for parties and showers I was hosting,” she says. “And it grew from there.”

We caught up with the handcrafted dessert maven to find out five things you don’t know about her:

5) I love giving gifts and wrapping them.
“I actually have a little gift closet that I stock things away in all year long. You will often find me dropping a little something off to the ones I love. My current favorite gift to give is color-coordinated baskets.”

4) My dream is to be featured on the Hallmark Channel.
“I am obsessed with Hallmark Christmas movies. I daydream about my bakeshop being featured in one. Or maybe I could share my traditional holiday treats and recipes with viewers? Either way, ultimate dream!”

3) If I could only pick one sweet for the rest of my life …
“ … it would be a white iced sprinkled cake donut from LaMar’s.”

2) I am a certified Barre instructor.
“I fell in love with Barre at PowerLife Yoga in Prairie Village and after many months of practicing, I actually went through teacher training—while six months pregnant with our daughter.”

1) I am terrified of sharks, but also fascinated by them.
“My husband and I recently caught (and released) a 5-foot nerf shark off the Florida Keys! We always celebrate Shark Week in the bakeshop with some fun shark-themed treats too.”
