Story Boutique Benefit Sale June 2-4

Looking for an excuse to do some shopping? There’s no better excuse than Story Boutique’s benefit sale. Shop gently used men’s and women’s clothing—with select racks offering high-end fashionable items—for $5 a piece with a suggested donation of $10. All proceeds benefit families in the local community who receive services from Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care.

Old Shawnee Days June 2-5

After a two-year hiatus, Old Shawnee Days is back in full force! The bands will be rockin’, kids will be smilin’, and the turkey legs will be smokin’! One of the largest carnivals in the KC area, Old Shawnee Days is complete with local and national live music and performances, crafts and vendors, carnival rides, street food, games, contests, and more. This year’s special events include the annual tomato roll, pie and baking contests, and rolle bolle competitions.

Festa Italiana! June 3-5

Italy comes to Zona Rosa this weekend with Festival Italiana. Enjoy three days of Italian culture, cuisine, music, and heritage. Everyone is invited to enjoy top-notch national and local entertainment acts by Italian American musicians, numerous Italian food vendors, a meatball eating contest, chef demos, the Motori in Piazza Italian Motorsports Show, Catholic Sunday Mass to honor loved ones, and a vibrant children’s play area.

Food Truck Frenzy June 4

Visit Old Town Lenexa at Santa Fe Trail Drive and Pflumm Road to feast on a variety of cuisines from area food trucks, shop from local vendors, and enjoy live music by local performers during the event. You’ll have the choice between 13 local food trucks from 5-10 p.m. and nine local makers from 5-8 p.m.

Hospital Hill Run June 4

The 49th annual Hospital Hill Run is on at 7 a.m. on Grand Boulevard. Nationally recognized by Runner’s World magazine, this run offers a 5K, 10K, and half marathon. All participants receive a finisher’s medal, T-shirt, and bib, along with finish-line food and drink, on-course entertainment, a great post-race party, and much more! Can’t make it to the race?
