My Dying Wish: musicbyskippy’s Live Album Release Show April 7-8

Overland Park native Luke Harbur (aka musicbyskippy) just released his first album, My Dying Wish. He’s performing the full album live as an all-in-one performer with an arsenal of beatboxing, singing, beat production, rapping, and keyboard.  

Hike Swope Park with a Naturalist April 9

The weather is warming up, and it’s time to break out those hiking shoes! Learn more about local nature during this guided tour through Swope Park’s hiking trails. A trained naturalist will share facts about different habitats and the plants and animals along the trail.

Eat Local + Organic Expo April 9

Stop by Johnson County Community College to shop products from local farms. Find fresh greens and herbs, small-batch artisans, community-supported agriculture programs, healthy transplants for your garden, free-range meats and eggs, and more.

BARRE KC’s Black & White Soirée April 9

Enjoy beer and wine from Boulevard Brewing Co., yummy bites to eat, a dynamic performance from the Kansas City Ballet’s Second Company, and a silent auction, all while supporting KC Ballet’s Reach Out and Dance program, which brings dance to students at under-resourced schools. 

Pickleball for Pets April 10

Spend your day playing pickleball, petting pups, and snacking on Chicken N’ Pickle. Proceeds from the pickleball tournament benefit Great Plains SPCA, and all players will get a swag bag with a Great Plains T-shirt and $100 gift card to Toner Jewelers. Sounds like a good deal to us!
