Russell Stover Plans to Build the World’s Largest Box of Chocolates in KC to Honor 100th Anniversary

If you’re a chocolate lover in any capacity, you’ve likely had a taste or two of Russell Stover Chocolates. The Kansas City-based chocolatier is turning 100 in 2023, and they are planning record-breaking celebrations.

On April 17, Russell Stover is attempting to break the world record for the largest box of chocolates. With the help of KCK-based Dimensional Innovations, the chocolate company is creating an oversized replica of its classic box of assorted chocolates at the Kauffman Center for Performing Arts.

Estimated to be 30 feet by 15 feet, the chocolate box will weigh over 2,300 pounds and hold over 4,500 pounds of chocolate.

Kansas Citians will then have the opportunity to snap a selfie with the giant box of sweets at Russell Stover’s headquarters (4900 Oak Street) before it’s taken on a cross-country road trip.

Starting in May, visitors to the chocolatier’s headquarters will be treated to chocolate giveaways and limited-edition treats and merchandise.
