It’s Musically, Legally Blonde

Though Legally Blonde was released all the way back in 2001, it remains one of our generation’s most beloved films—and Starlight’s bringing it to life through musical theater, now until July 13. Both local and national performers are appearing in this self-produced show by Starlight, including Carrie St. Louis, perhaps best known as Glinda in Broadway’s Wicked, as the incomparable Elle Woods.

The show is directed and choreographed by Broadway veteran Nikki Snelson, who is bringing previous experience in the Legally Blonde world to the table, as she originated the role of Brooke Wyndham on Broadway’s Legally Blonde The Musical. Two notable canine talents also join the cast to tackle the roles of Elle’s sidekick Bruiser and Paulette’s bulldog, Rufus (joining from Kansas City’s English Bulldog Rescue).

“This show is guaranteed to inspire audiences while making them laugh and want to sing along,” Lindsey Rood-Clifford, president and CEO of Starlight says. “The cast and crew have worked hard to provide a memorable performance for Starlight and I am proud of the show we have produced for our community to enjoy!” Audiences have already descended en masse, showing off Elle Woods’s signature color—pink.

The fun continues on “Pink Rush” theme night, July 12, featuring a signature pink cocktail, Legally Blonde trivia, and themed giveaway prizes. From 6:30-8 p.m. More information at https://www.kcstarlight.com/events/group-tickets/.
