Getting rowdy at Saints Pub + Patio

Bars

Nothing says “Super Bowl” like a watch party at a bar, and Kansas City won’t disappoint. From Paul and Jacks Tavern in North Kansas City to Woodys KC downtown, most every metro neighborhood has a barstool with your name on it, a cold one waiting, and dozens of your new closest friends. Woodys has a $5 cover donation and is showing the game on a display in the upper level with theater-style seating. Ollies Local will celebrate in true Kansas City style with a barbecue buffet, not to mention drink specials and the chance to win prizes for the cost of $15.99. Strange Days plans to break out surprise drinks and is also offer theater-style seating. Crossroads food hall Parlor is rolling out the red carpet for an all-day party complete with a DJ, VIP sections, and if you’re feeling spend-y, bottle service. And if you’re looking for rowdy, may we suggest Saints Pub + Patio? Their Chiefs parties are epic blowouts complete with some of the best elevated bar food in the metro. (Three words: Order. Their. Pizza. Two more: You’re. Welcome.)

Theaters

Any fans who have dreamed of watching the Chiefs play the big game on the big screen (no, not at Arrowhead) have to look no further than Screenland Armour in North Kansas City. The theater features local and national beer on tap, as well as local spirits. Pizza, sandwiches, and appetizers also are available for purchase. Seating will begin around 4:30 p.m. and is first-come, first-served.

Power & Light District

Power & Light went red for the AFC Championship game against the Tennessee Titans and is keeping the momentum rolling for the Super Bowl. Housed in the KC Live! area, the event features the game on the big screen, multiple grilling stations, heaters, and hot alcoholic beverages to warm you up. Families are more than welcome for the big game. And those fans looking to begin celebrations before the game actually starts can take in live music and DJs throughout the day. Oh, and did we mention its free?

Arcade-style

Ever consider a little pinball before kick-off? Well, The Fuel House and Dave & Busters can fill that need. From arcade games to drink samples, the Fuel House and Unspoken Water Brewing Co. are joining forces for a family-friendly watch party that features those games. Just be sure not to play them once the game starts! The event costs $20 for adults and $10 for children. Another option on the Kansas side is Dave & Busters. Both the Overland Park and KCK locations are offering VIP tickets and “power-game add-ons.” Prices vary by location.

Buffet All Day? Yes, Please!

The Elms Hotel and Spa in Excelsior Springs is hosting a $35/person buffet, complete with drink specials. Book a night that weekend to keep the festivities going! Or enjoy an Italian grill feast at Pinstripes, including beer specials and the Big Game showing on a projection screen. Space is limited, so get your tix ASAP!

No Booze? No Problem!

Those looking for an alcohol-free way to cheer on the Chiefs can come together at Unity Temple on the Plaza. Hosted by Sans Bar Kansas City, the event will feature hand-crafted, alcohol-free drinks. In Kansas, Church of the Resurrection Leawood will also host a dry party.
