Make-up artist Ashley Maurin Rodden knows to strike when the eyelash wand is hot. In June, Rodden opened her new The Makeup Lab by LOVER “to cater to women’s two most basic makeup needs: 1) I don’t have time for makeup and 2) I don’t know how to apply it.”
The personalized, one-on-one, in-house make-up tutorial is perfect suited for women unsure about new make-up techniques or trying out a new look. “It’s comfortable, private, quiet, you get to ask questions and demystify makeup!” says Rodden.
Plus, her LOVER® Cosmetics product line touts being made in the USA and cruelty-free. Most powder products are vegan and gluten-free. Rodden says she’s heard nothing but good things since she opened. “It’s perfect for a teen just starting to wear makeup and she can learn how to naturally and beautifully apply,” says Rodden. “And perfect for a 60+ retiree who wants to look good, travel light, and use quality products.”
Rodden says landing in Brookside was a no-brainer. “I love the local vibe and other businesses in the area. The space is perfect with natural light. It’s just what I was looking for,” she says. “We’re the coolest new biz on the block!”
