Everyone deserves quality health care–that’s the core belief that launched the KC Care Health Center 50 years ago. Half a century later, it’s time to celebrate that mission–but they are waiting to do it in safety and style. The organization announced this week that they will celebrate their golden anniversary with an over-the-top black-tie affair on September 22, 2022, at the Loews Kansas City Hotel.
The gala will celebrate the thousands of lives impacted by the KC Care Health Center. The center began as the Westport Free Health Clinic in the lobby of the Alcazar Hotel in 1971 and offered free medical services to any that needed them. That commitment to underserved communities has only grown, addressing the HIV/AIDS crisis in the 80s, the continuing mental health crisis, and now the COVID-19 pandemic.
