A Coffee Collaboration Mixes Hispanic and Asian Flavors

The perfect blend of Hispanic and Asian flavors is coming together through a collaboration between two Kansas City coffee shops—Cafe Cà Phê and Café Ollama. The duo announced their new menu filled with fusion drinks and other treats at the beginning of the month, and it will run through the month of January.

Three drinks are featured on the collaborative menu. An iced favorite, the Saigon de Olla features a blend between the Mexican staple, Café de Olla, and Vietnamese drink Cà Phê Sữa Đá. Think strong, dark, with a splash of condensed-milk sweetness. The Cajeta con Spice, an espresso drink made with oat milk, is filled with creamy Mexican caramel and a kick of spice and cardamom. Hella Morada might be the breakout favorite, a drink inspired by and using Filipino and Mexican flavors and topped with cinnamon, whipped cream, and a churro. Ube brings a dreamy purple color, and the comforting flavors of horchata warm up all the winter days. The recipes were planned and perfected by Jason Izquierdo and Café Ollama owner, Lesley Reyes.

The collaboration is set to run through January and has already involved treats including matcha conches made by Elvira’s Cakes. According to Café Ollama, ten percent of the proceeds will benefit Ryogoku Soccer Academy.
