Swinging. Stylish. Soulful. The Kansas City Jazz Orchestra invites two of Kansas City’s living musical legends, vocalist Deborah Brown and saxophonist Bobby Watson, to join the orchestra for an 8 p.m. concert, May 17, and 2 p.m. concert, May 18, at the Folly Theater. Witness history at this live album recording! 

Gladstone Summertime Bluesfest, May 17, 18
It’s an annual festival of fun, food, and great blues music in Linden Square brought to you by the Gladstone Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Gladstone. Opens at 5 p.m. on May 17 and 4 p.m. on May 18. There’s a suggested donation of $5 upon entrance. 

KC Folkfest, May 18
Washington Square Park in Kansas City, Missouri, is the center of the action from noon to 8 p.m. for this celebration featuring music, art, and a market. Listen to music by Arquesta del Solsoul, Madisen Ward, Jass, Rural Grit, and more. It’s an admission- and barrier-free event.
