15 More Festive Bars and Restaurants for Merry Making

More local bars and restaurants are getting into the seasonal spirit, and we’re back with a sequel to our original holiday pop-up list.

Drastic Measures
Drastic Measures opens on December 8th to their holiday concept, Drastic Mensches. For the week of Hanukkah, 100 percent of their sales will be donated to Jewish Family Services (last year they raised $7,500). No tickets, no reservations, this is a first-come, first-served event featuring drinks themed around Jewish holidays and culture.

Waldo Thai
An exclusive and one-night-only event is coming to Waldo Thai. The “Christmas in Waldo” dinner includes five courses and festive holiday cocktails. Apologies for the lack of family-friendliness, but this event is for those only 21 and up!

The Campground
The Campground turned five last week, and we want to make sure there are many more years to come. Four years ago, they started an open-air, European-style holiday market and the trend continues this year, starting December 7-9 and 14-16. Check @thecampground for more details.

Cafe Trio
It’s not a pop-up, but it’s still a holiday must. Cafe Trio goes all out with the holiday decorations, and you’ll be entranced by the elegant seasonal wonderland you’re dining in, including a backdrop of live music and a striking view of the Plaza.

City Barrel Brewing
City Barrel is getting dressed to the nines for the holidays. They’ll be rolling out Christmas trivia and a rotating Christmas Party IPA—a perfect spot for the festive fun to get started.

Deck the Iron District
Trent Kesterson of Tiki Huna curated the seasonal cocktail list for Deck the District, a holiday pop-up bar in the Iron District. With a heated deck, small bites, and great booze, this winter wonderland is perfect for a night out on the town.

The House Bar
The House in Westwood is decked out in holiday decor and serving specialty cocktails all month. With no reservations necessary (or allowed), this small space gives cozy firepit vibes that you’ll want to sit around all night. Bonus—one dollar from each holiday cocktail will be donated to ReStart, a local homeless shelter, through December 31.

SERV
Overland Park’s SERV is bringing a festive fusion of dining and fun thighs season with three themed containers: The Grinch’s Hideout, A Christmas Story Corner, and the Winter Wonderland Retreat. Each section offers a unique 90-minute dining experience with small bites, cocktails, and a welcome snack. Worry not—two cozy igloos are also open for reservations for those looking for some holiday alone time.

Mean Mule Distilling
The festively decorated Mean Mule Distilling is lighting up the Crossroads, and with hints that there’s more to come you’ll definitely want to keep an eye on this spot throughout the month.

KC Live!
Tinsel Tavern lives up to its name with twinkling lights and sparkling tinsel from floor to ceiling. It’s a true holiday escape and an oasis in the middle of downtown Kansas City. Guests can expect small bites and cozy vibes with holiday-inspired cocktails. And themed events, including karaoke, ugly sweater contests, and Christmas DJ nights, keep the energy going.

Chaz Restaurant and Lounge
Chaz on the Plaza is known for jazz and good news! It’s getting Christmas-y leading up to Christmas Day. Enjoy the view of the Plaza lights and book your Christmas prix fixe dinner at Chaz. The four-course, full-plate menu features cinnamon bread, shrimp cocktail, maple bourbon ham, and eggnog cheesecake.

Rieger Hey! Hey! Club
Everyone’s been Sippin’ Santa at J Rieger’s Hey! Hey! Club. We’re looking forward to their theme nights this month, including the Ugly Christmas Sweater Party on December 12 and the Pajama Party on December 26.

misc.
For anyone who lives and loves a “no reservations” life, misc.’s “Home for the Holidays” is for you. They’re serving up cocktail flights, including gingerbread martinis, candy-cane margaritas, a blueberry pecan old fashioned, an apple cider whiskey, and a spicy tequila mule called the “Scrooge.”

Miracle Pop Up
Do you want the Travis/Taylor experience this season? The Chiefs might’ve been there first, but you can still make it into one of the three Miracle locations to celebrate with a little extra swagger.
