Join us for the 17th Annual Ugly Christmas Sweater Party featuring O-Town, LFO, Ryan Cabrera, and DJ Alex Reed. We will also have fun holiday-themed games, photo booth, a best costume contest, raffle prizes and more! Doors open at 7:30PM @ The Truman in downtown Kansas City. This annual fundraiser is organized by a group of volunteers with a goal to support Operation Breakthrough by raising funds and awareness for kids living in poverty in Kansas City’s urban core. It has become one of KC’s favorite holiday traditions. News has spread nationally over the 17 years as we’ve been featured in TV, books, magazines, BuzzFeed, Yahoo, and even featured in a Travel Channel documentary!

The Ugly Christmas Sweater Party began in 2005 as a small holiday gathering in a Brookside basement with over-the-top holiday decorations just as ugly as the sweaters. After two years, we turned our hard work into good for others and raise money for a charity (Operation Breakthrough: an organization that helps childrens and families break through the barriers of living in poverty). This organization irelies 100% on donations from the community to operate, and it provides much needed support for children and families in Kansas City’s urban core. Without Operation Breakthrough’s holiday programs, hundreds of families would not have a meal on Christmas or any toys under the tree. We are the largest and longest running ‘ugly christmas sweater party’ in the United States. This was highlighted and filmed on the TV production done by The Travel Channel.
