Local artist and Kansas City Art Institute alumnus Marcus Cain draws inspiration from textiles, but his paintings capture the color and movement of the most engaging gardens. I have two of his paintings in my home office, and through the depths of winter—and, yes, the pandemic—they were a reminder that color, life, and joy were in reach.
