Kansas City Horror Play Festival October 20-23

The Living Room Theatre is presenting the return of the Kansas City Horror Play Festival. “Thrill and chill with a ghoulish spread of original short horror plays written, designed, and performed by KC artists.” The festival includes two different shows—one will be on stage October 20 and 22, and the other will be on stage October 21 and 23.

Dia de los Muertos: La Fiesta October 21

The Crossroads Hotel is partnering with the Mattie Rhodes Art Center & Gallery and Kansas City Museum to explore the history and cultural traditions of Dia de los Muertos, the Mexican holiday where family and friends gather to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died—helping support their spiritual journey. Enjoy live mariachi entertainment from Mariachi Corazon de America, puppetry by StoneLion Puppet Theatre, complimentary adult Day of the Dead face painting, specialty cocktails, and a food menu.

Illuminate October 21

Mark your calendars as the nonprofit highlights where they’ve been, where they are, and where they’re going. They’ll shine a spotlight on stories from inside their programs and share their vision for the future. 

Ghost Light 2022 October 22

The Kansas City Repertory Theatre is back with the third annual haunted night of songs and stories. Performed in Roanoke Park, this hybrid concert and ghost-story event weaves together local storytellers and musicians to share frighteningly fun tales from KC’s cultural crossroads. This year’s event will be free to the public and features extraordinary musicians, writers, and storytellers who reflect the cultural riches of our KC community.

Halloween on the Lawn October 22

Get some shopping in along with Halloween fun at the Legends Outlets. Halloween on the Lawn includes a movie screening of The Nightmare Before Christmas, fortune-telling, face painting, Halloween photo ops, candy, and special offers from participating stores and restaurants around the Legends.
