Friday Flamingle: Tropical Night May 19
The Kansas City Zoo is hosting its first Friday Flamingle, an evening happening reserved for the 21+ crowd. Experience the zoo’s animal residents while enjoying music, free carousel and train rides, and yard games. Plus, there will be cash bars, food trucks, trivia, and hula hooping and limbo contests.

Turkey Creek Festival May 20
An annual tradition in Merriam, the Turkey Creek Festival has activities for everyone in the family. Start the day with a pancake breakfast, walk and run in a 5K, grab food from ten food trucks, listen to live music, or visit the Kid Zone where you’ll find a petting zoo, wood projects, pony rides, inflatables, face painting, and fishing.

Christopher Elbow Chocolate and Wine Pairings May 20
TerraVox Winery and Christopher Elbow Chocolates are making the perfect pairings of locally made artisanal wine and chocolates. You’ll get to taste the pairings while learning more about the science of pairing wine and chocolate. 

Raytona Beach Bash May 20
Crane Brewing has invited the St. Louis-based bluegrass and folk band Screechin’ Halts to help the brewery celebrate the launch of its newest sour, Raytona Beach. The sour ale includes notes of pineapple, coconut, and vanilla perfect for summer vibes.

Kansas City Triathlon May 21
Looking to score ultimate bragging rights to kick off the summer? Checking a triathlon off your bucket list ought to do the trick. The Kansas City Sports Commission & Foundation is hosting the Kansas City Triathlon, where athletes can prove their strength in the three-sport trial. Each participant will receive a commemorative finisher medal, a custom apparel item, free food, Southwest BLVD lagers, Topo Chico hard seltzer, and massages after the race.
