Living Windows on the Historic Independence Square

It’s the third year for Living Windows on the Historic Independence Square. Come out for an evening of holiday wonder as more than 20 windows come to life. For one night only, musicians, performers, artists, etc. will take familiar holiday scenes to a magical level. This year’s windows will include The Night Before Christmas, A Christmas Carol, a live nativity, a jazz ensemble, Santa’s living room and more.

Rightfully Sewn 2019 Fashion Biennale: Golden Gala

Date: Saturday, December 7

Rightfully Sewn’s Fashion Biennale event, the GOLDEN GALA, is a fundraiser to bring in critical support for its Seamstress Training Program and Fashion Designer Residency Program. Named for Kansas City’s “golden era” of garment design and manufacturing in the last century, the GOLDEN GALA is an opulent, meaningful evening to celebrate Kansas City’s heritage and future.

The evening will feature a Gold Carpet Experience, live music by Kansas City-based The Phantastics, followed by DJ Christian Noni. A sumptuous culinary experience will be provided by one of Kansas City’s premier eateries, Pierpont’s at Union Station, with a coffee bar provided by The Roasterie.


Home for the HoliDAYs with Tamara Day

Kansas City’s own Tamara Day—host of HGTV’s popular Bargain Mansions—is a self-proclaimed shopaholic, and she’s bringing her keen eye and retail savvy to Town Center in Leawood for a holiday-centric meet-and-greet. At LoveSac, Tamara will be showcasing some of her distinctive products from her specialty line. And bonus—there’s a mini-violin and cello concert happening during the afternoon’s festivities.

Thursday, December 5th
While strolling through The Crestwood Shops, enjoy a progressive wine tasting event sponsored by Underdog Wine Co. Each shop will have a different wine to satisfy your taste buds. As you go from shop to shop you will enjoy music by the Kansas City Chorale to fill you with holiday cheer. Be sure to check out the 16 unique gingerbread houses created by local chefs that you’ll find in each of the shops. Make sure to vote for your favorite! You can also bid on any of the gingerbread houses.

Friday, December 6th
Enjoy a delightful holiday prix-fixe lunch at Aixois or Café Europa with friends or family. After lunch concludes, start your holiday shopping off right as you visit all of the shops.

Saturday, December 7th, 2019
The entire family will have a wonderful time having Breakfast with Santa at Aixois or Café Europa! The morning will begin with a delicious prix-fixe breakfast. Each child will receive a stocking and a ticket to get his or her picture taken with Santa. What a fun-filled way to kick-off the holidays!


3rd Annual Masquerade Ball Benefiting The Kansas City Center For Inclusion

Break out the violet, lavender, and mauve! The Kansas City Center for Inclusion will be hosting its 3rd annual masquerade—this year with a Purple Prince theme. Proceeds of the event will benefit KCCI, the only LGBTQ+ Community Resource Center in the Kansas City region.
