Night at the ArboretumOctober 22
Experience the Arboretum like you never have before–at night! Roam the trails with your flashlight, look at the stars, and enjoy nocturnal educational opportunities after dark at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. Boo & BrewOctober 23
Come celebrate all things Halloween at Town Center Plaza’s Boo & Brew festival from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m.. The event will feature live music from Drew Six and U2 tribute band, Rattle & Hum; spectacular aerial performances by Kansas City Aerial Arts; a beer garden; and food trucks. For the kiddos, there will be  trick-or-treating and a chance to explore inside their favorite service and construction vehicles. Lawn chairs are welcome. Saturdays with The SwingOctober 23
From 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., join local artists and makers at the historic Wornall Home in Brookside. Presented by The Strawberry Swing Indie Craft Fair, this highly curated experience includes inspired handmade and vintage vendors, food trucks, local live music, and was recently featured as one of the top 35 Indie Craft Fairs in the world. End of the World Pub CrawlOctober 23
Post-apocalyptic zombies have risen from the dead and taken over Kansas City! Gather members to join your zombie-killing team and take back the streets of Martini Corner. Win some killer prizes by visiting all participating venues while avoiding Zombies trying to take your life (flags). Costumes are encouraged and a prize will be awarded to the person with the best costume. A portion of the proceeds will go towards Uncover KC’s Discovery Education program. Van Gogh Alive – Begins October 23
Starlight Theatre and The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art present Van Gogh Alive, a large-scale, immersive multi-sensory experience that will entertain the whole family. Van Gogh’s masterpieces come to life, giving visitors the sensation of walking right into his paintings, a feeling that is simultaneously enchanting, entertaining, and educational. For a limited time only—October 23 through December 31—at Starlight Theatre, audiences have the unique opportunity to experience Van Gogh’s artistry and truly venture into his world.
