SAVE, Inc. HomeComing 2019

Willkommen: Leave Your Troubles Outside!

SAVE, Inc.’s 8th Annual HomeComing event will take place on Saturday, November 9th, 2019 at Studio Dan Meiners. HomeComing: Willkommen is a benefit for SAVE, Inc. This year’s theme, Willkommen: Leave Your Troubles Outside! welcomes you into the outlandish and fantastical underground world of “Cabaret,” where life is beautiful and you can leave your troubles at the door. The theme is inspired by the musical, “Cabaret,” and by one of its most iconic songs: “Willkommen.” The musical continues to resonate with modern audiences due in part to its thematic statements on political indifference, activism, and social and cultural change.

Your support of HomeComing 2019 will also support the reopening of SAVE Home, the original facility that has housed individuals in need since their foundation in 1986. SAVE Home is now reopening as a drop-in center for young adults, ages 18-25, who identify as LGBTQ+. The new SAVE Home drop-in center supports the goal of ending homelessness in the LGBTQ+ population. A new building, Alhaven, which held its groundbreaking ceremony in September, will have dedicated affordable housing units set aside for this transition-aged youth population. SAVE, Inc.’s goal with these new projects is to offer an entire continuum of housing services for LGBTQ+ youth, from street outreach to permanent supportive housing.
