The first night of Kansas City Fashion Week 2019 kicked off yesterday evening with a bevy of designers showcasing everything from fluid and flowy gowns to intricate and ingenious pantsuits. (Oh, and some killer shoes to boot. Pun intended.) Here’s a look at what the designers brought to the runway last night. We get the 411 straight from Teisha Barber, the president of Kansas City Fashion Week.

Kamber Causemaker — Kamber Elyse
“Kamber spends her summers in NYC working for larger clothing brands to gain more experience in the design industry. Her collection REDfeatures leather belts saddling nostalgic, rural-inspired patterns and bites of wild-animal prints. Feminine with no fuss, this collection offers an earthy palette among the intricate, hand-engineered patterns printed in a digital apparel and textiles studio. The collection, inspired by the old American West, also features tortoiseshell notions for a touch of timeless elegance, while still portraying an out-of-shell attitude. REDencourages the woman to take the reins.”

Missy Isamoore — Sew UnRelaxed
“Sew Unrelaxed F/W 19 line consists of gorgeous after-five, formal and evening wear, including menswear, this season. It features ready-to-wear fashion with flair and affordability.”

Shelby Harvey — Shelby Harvey Designs
“Past experiences include working closely with bridal gown designer Hayley Paige and celebrity couture designer Asher Levine.”

Hailey Volbrecht
“Hailey not only studied at Iowa State but also at the London College of Fashion. She then interned for Marchesa, was an assistant designer at Free People, and worked with the Aveda Institute during multiple New York fashion shows. The collection is inspired by the catacombs in France.”

Jaxson Metzler — XYZ
“Jason has grown since he was on Season One of Project Runway Junior. He now attends Kansas State University and debuted his first collection at KCFW. The inspiration for his collection is Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.”
