Hear A Book; Take A Book

Altrusa International of Greater Kansas City, Inc has been invited to be a part of the Merc’s Third Friday Artwalk on Friday, October 15. Altrusa has been asked to bring their award winning Hear A Book; Take A Book project to the gathering from 5:00 pm until 8:30 pm. This free event takes place at the Merc, 501 Minnesota (corner of 5th and Minnesota streets), Kansas City, KS 66061. Join us as we share a love of reading by encouraging each child to select one brand new book to take home and add to his/her library as well as other literacy centered activities. Geared toward pre-Kindergarten through sixth grade children. Adults will read to children and children may choose to read to adults. This Altrusa project was made possible by a grant of $4,000 from Altrusa International Foundation to improve the economic well-being and quality of life in communities that host an Altrusa club.
