Let’s face it, the Kansas City Chiefs are hot. And they’re about to get hotter thanks to Kansas City’s hometown Spicin Foods. The Kansas City-based manufacturer of over 1,500 sauce and rub products announced today they will now manufacture and sell Kansas City Chiefs-branded barbecue and hot sauces, with three new products launching this Friday. “Sauces range from mild to very hot and everything in-between, and I’m confident we have just the right sauce to fit the taste buds of every Chiefs fan,” says Scott Morse, Spicin Foods owner and CEO.
A six-pack of limited-edition sauces will be available twice a year and feature Chiefs players on the bottle packaging. (Fun fact: it’s the first time the NFL Players Association, an NFL club, and club partner have launched a consumer product for retail.) Six current Kansas City players will be featured on the debut release: Patrick Mahomes, Chris Jones, Tyreek Hill, Frank Clark, Tyrann Mathieu and Clyde Edwards-Helaire.
And brace yourself! Two additional sauces—Arrowhead Smoke BBQ Sauce and 142.2 dB Hot Sauce (an homage to the world record-setting crowd roar of Chiefs fans)—will be released for individual purchase.
