Theatre in the Park Kicks Off Their 2021 Season

They’re baaaaack—sorta! Theatre in the Park (TIP) kicks off their 2021 season virtually with an all new, all original musical. Introducing Songs for a New…Now—a cabaret featuring songs written by Kansas City regional composers and lyricists. Songs for a New…Now will be presented streaming on demand beginning Friday, April 23, and tickets will be available for purchase at www.theatreinthepark.org that Friday for $10.00.

Capitalizing on the success of TIP’s Innovative Theatre Project playwrighting competition in December, TIP has decided to do it again—but this time with music.  The show features a compilation of musical numbers by 14 regional musical artists.  The songs range from musical theater to pop songs, and the artists come from all walks of life— from teachers, to a high school student, to people who love to write music just for fun. “It’s exciting to highlight the many talented people that live in our area,” says TIP producing artistic director Tim Bair. “From touching to funny, there is something for everyone in this songwriter showcase.”

Songs for a New…Now—directed and choreographed by Tim Bair, with music direction by Marsha Canaday. Streaming on demand from April 23 at www.theatreinthepark.org. For more details about TIP or to order tickets, click here.
